Following a recent Facebook poll, American McGee will be pitching Alice 3 to EA this week at GDC. However, the game won’t be quite the same as the two previous installments.
This was reported by American McGee and RJ Berg. Apparently the new game, which will most likely become Alice in Otherland, will focus on online cooperative play and user-generated content. “Probably a AAA title, as the previous two have been, is not the first priority of EA right now,” Berg told Joystiq. “We have to construct a very strong idea of how that presentation might run, but it’s up to them to pick up on the opportunity.”
This comment was followed up by one of McGee himself, who explained: “Right now the idea is Alice in ‘Otherland,’it’s her invading the minds of other people and visiting their Wonderlands, and using what she’s learned about her own mental landscape to go in and harm or heal the people she encounters. It means that the streets of London become the portals into 1,000, 10,000 amazing, different stories.”
The more I think about this, the more sense it makes. Alice will literally be invading our minds as we construct the levels that she will play through, kinda like Little Big Planet, but with plenty of murder. What do you guys think about the idea?
