New UNFOLLOW Demo Arrives October 26th

Unfollow: a giant head emerging down a set of stairs.

For a combination of survival horror and the anxieties of social media, look no further than UNFOLLOW. Developed by Serafini Productions, this indie title will see you battle against surreal and otherworldly things. While there is a demo currently available on Steam, there’s a new one coming October 26 (just in time for the spooky season).

UNFOLLOW will put emphasis on “social issues and the dark influence of social media,” with themes that address mental health, bullying, and body dysmorphia. You’ll play as Anne, “a victim of bullying, trapped in a nightmarish world where you must escape from terrifying monsters while uncovering a dark mystery.”

While it will have the stealth mechanics of a modern survival horror game, there is also a combat system, so you will be able to fight back. There’s also going to be multiple endings, which will be influenced by the choices made throughout the story.

Unfollow: a very dark corridor with mannequins against the walls.

Having been honored to get a sneak peek at footage of the new demo, I can safely say you’re in for a treat. Not only does the game look great, but its creepy and ominous atmosphere, combined with some macabre and disturbing imagery, will send shivers down spines. Also, that creepy massive head is something that’s going to give me nightmares!

It also features a small cameo from none other than Nick Apostolides. You’ll know him as the character model and voice for Leon Kennedy (the remake of RE2 and RE4, specifically).

As of now, UNFOLLOW doesn’t have a release date, but it is expected to drop sometime in 2024. Look out for the new demo, which is launching tomorrow on Steam. Also, while you’re here, check out the short teaser below.
