The rumor we reported on earlier has become a reality. Vergil, Lady, and Trish will all be playable characters in Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition.We also have some more information to share, along with a brand new trailer.
In order to create what Capcom’s calling the definitive version of the character, DMC4 SE’s Vergil will have his gameplay foundation based on the DMC3 SE version, combined with elements from his more recent DmC incarnation. Vergil’s abilities also get enhanced by the addition of the new “Concentration” mechanic, which makes his attacks grow stronger the “more calmly and flawlessly he fights.” Vergil will also get the “Grim Trick” ability, allowing him to teleport by using his sword illusions.
Lady (making her playable debut) will bring long-range fighting into the mix, with a focus on firearms. Playing as Trish strips away weapon switching, instead putting the focus on the Sparda sword.
This new edition of the game will also include “Legendary Dark Knight Mode,” which was something the developer wanted to have included back in the game’s PlayStation 3 edition. This will have players go up against a relentless amount of enemies which will have you adapting your combat strategy to keep up with the chaos. New costumes will also be included (which will also appear in the cutscenes) and other tweaks to the overall performance.
