Red Barrels have released a new screenshot from the sequel to last year’s excellent Outlast, Outlast II, on their official Facebook page. This is the first we’re seeing of Outlast II since the teaser announcement trailer was released in October.
Speaking to Polygon, Red Barrels have also explained that this time around they can do what they want when they want thanks to the sales of the original game, instead of rushing things as they were forced to previously. This is of course great news.
“We’re in full control of what we ship and when we ship it,” says Red Barrels President Philippe Morin. “For the first Outlast, we were in a rush to release the game before running out of money. Because more than 3.5 million players have played the first game, we’re now in a position to make decisions based on our ambitions.”
Outlast II is scheduled to release at the end of this year, and we can’t wait to see more.
