Team Junkfish’s survival horror roguelike Monstrum will release in just seven days and this new trailer highlights some of the amazing changes that have been made since we previewed the title months ago.
The game puts players on an abandoned ship that they have to escape from. While many exits exist, such as a lifeboat, there is always something preventing the player from going straight for it. Instead, you must explore the randomized rooms of the vessel and find the equipment needed to progress, such as the tape in order to repair the lifeboat. That is, if the monsters don’t find you first.
On the 29th, Monstrum will be made available in Early Access, during which it will include two of the three monsters, three escape routes, and four of the five different sections. On launch, the prices will be £9.99, $14.99, or €12.50 depending on your region. After Early Access is complete, these will increase to £11.99, $17.99, and €14.99 respectively, so early adopters will save a bit of cash.
For survival horror fans, this might be the most interesting indie title of the year, so be sure to keep an eye out for it.
