After a year and a half of no word on the Fatal Frame 2 remake for Wii, also tentatively titled Fatal Frame (Project Zero) 5, it has resurfaced at Nintendo Direct’s conference today with new footage and a release date. Unfortunately no word for a release outside of Japan has been mentioned just as it was with Fatal Frame IV: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, but if we’re lucky and if sales of the 3DS spin-off (Spirit Photography) does well, they’ll maybe consider porting over the remake. The game releases in Japan on June 28th this year, and seems to not only feature redone graphics but new gameplay mechanics enhanced from Fatal Frame IV, new areas, and redone FMV sequences.
Hopefully we’ll get better footage of this than a live-stream recording soon. You can check out the new gameplay footage below.
