Releasing in just a little over two weeks, Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise has received a new trailer, leaving us with even more questions as to what’s going on in this enigmatic prequel/sequel.
The trailer entitled “Welcome to Le Carré!” is a vacation-style overview of what the town of Le Carré (a fictionalized New Orleans-ish town) is like and why tourists should pack up their bags and get ready for some pralines. The trailer is narrated by none other than Francis York Morgan, the co-lead of the series (along with counter-part Zach). It’s good to hear York again after all of these years.
The trailer gives us a much needed glimpse of the town and the type of activities the game will offer. Ritualistic murder, mini-games, breakfast, and monsters! After seeing so little about this game since it was announced, this tiny teaser confirms that Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise will indeed feature the things we’ve loved about the original.
The trailer also includes some quick shots of some rather interesting things: York’s new “handgun” appears to be a bunch of tree roots with red leaves wrapped around his bones; an older man, possibly Zach, can be seen in a red dream world, suggesting he makes his return to Le Carré in present day; a red seed (as seen in the original game) can be seen in the reflection of York’s eye. What does it all mean?!
Hopefully Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise will be just as captivating, strange, and charming as the original game (although, with some much needed gameplay polish) when it releases on the Nintendo Switch on July 10th.
