Bohemia Interactive is always eager to share the progress made on the DayZ standalone with it’s community, after all DayZ’s creator Dean Hall has continuously stated that the game will “live and die by it’s community”. Be it interacting with the with fans on twitter or directly getting feedback from r/DayZ on reddit, Dean seems firm in his stance that this game is all about the community. Keeping with that mentality, Dean has released yet another DayZ developer blog video, this one focusing how the team is bringing some slick new moves to the in game zombies and player characters.
The developer blog video goes over the new animation and MOCAP work going into the standalone. Zombies will be much more expressive and will react in a more realistic way than they did previously in the mod incarnation of the game. Not only that, but apparently the new animations will go hand in hand with the new AI and path finding systems, which are set to be part of internal testing in the coming weeks.
There’s also plenty of laughs to be had in the devblog video, you can really tell the team loves working on the project. They have already gone above and beyond on expanding the game front it’s Arma II roots, let’s just hope the enthusiasm translates into a great game.
