Some new information has been released about the upcoming third game in Spike Chunsoft’s Danganronpa series of murder-mystery visual novels in the lead-up to a livestream event for the game taking place on December 2nd.
Famitsu has revealed in a preview for its next issue that New Danganronpa V3: New Semester of Mutual Killing (yes, that’s seriously what it’s called) will feature no returning characters from the previous games (other than series mascot Monokuma of course) and that its cast will instead be comprised entirely of new faces. A couple of screenshots show off a few of the new students, one of whom bears more than a passing resemblance to a robotic Nagito Komaeda (so I guess we’ll see how dubious this claim of an all-new cast will turn out to be).
The preview also confirmed that the game will be divided up into chapters much like its predecessors, and feature the same dialogue-based interaction system as well.
While there has not been any word on an English release of New Danganronpa V3, you can catch it on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita when it launches in Japan next year.
