Castlevania and Iga. Those are two names that haven’t been mentioned together in news for quite a long time. Now that MercurySteam is finished with their time with the series, with Lords of Shadow 2 now available, and to mixed reviews, is it time for a developer many fans love?
Koji Igarashi will be speaking at this year’s GDC on Friday, March 21st. He will be talking about the Metroidvania genre, and his experience making games in that beloved style. Could he perhaps be bringing a teaser for a new Metroidvania- style Castlevania game? It would be a perfect time for such an announcement, as fans have been waiting a long time to see what the famed developer has been up to.
I would love to see a new Castlevania game from Iga. I loved the Lords of Shadow saga, but I think it’s time to return to the man that’s steered the series for years.
