Fresh from the Tribeca Film Festival, Quantic Dreams’ latest game, Beyond: Two Souls has a brand-new trailer and 35 minutes of new gameplay footage. The footage shows Jodie Holmes through various stages of her life, including her childhood where her own family abandoned her due to her dangerous tie with a spirit named Aiden.
I have to admit, it’s hard to make an EMOTIONS David Cage joke after watching that trailer; Ellen Page’s performance came through very well and the trailer hinted at just how much tragedy her character will go through over the course of her life. A wide variety of set pieces and neat cinematography ain’t hurting either. I think I’m excited! Maybe I should finally pick up Heavy Rain to prepare for this?
As for the 35 minutes of gameplay, I have not watched it. I’ve posted it below for those of you out there who won’t mind seeing early scenes from the game. If Beyond: Two Souls really is this grand cinematic experience, then I’d suggest skipping the gameplay video, so that all aspects of the story will be fresh come October 8th, release day.
