A big list of games were discovered on a Steam database leak a few weeks back, and among them was The Chinese Room’s Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture. Not much has come from that leak and the many games (including multiple PlayStation published titles), but new evidence this week points to at least The Chinese Room’s melancholic exploration game actually hitting PCs soon.
According to Steam Database, a banner image for the existing Steam entry of Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture has been added. As of writing, the database entry has actually been updated some 20 minutes ago.
I spoke to Creative Director of The Chinese Room, Dan Pinchbeck at E3 and asked if a PC release of Rapture would be possible given Sony’s involvement, and the answer was fairly evasive. But if Sony has indeed re-evaluated the PC platform for some of their published titles, then Rapture seems like a sure fire bet as The Chinese Room previously had developed solely for the platform prior to their most recent game’s release. I’m sure they’d love to put the game into the hands of existing fans of theirs.
If the game is indeed coming to PC, I don’t think we’ll have to wait much longer to find out.
