The new DLC for The Walking Dead: The Game will star five different characters, each with their own ‘episode.’ Each episode will be approximately 15 minutes long, with the same kind of branching dialogue choices that we’ve come to expect from the first game. The 400 Days DLC takes place during the first season of The Walking Dead, offering a fresh perspective on the outbreak and the time shortly afterward.
Joystiq, who played through one of the episodes, states that the episode was contained and concise by the end. Of the five characters, you can play them in any order you like, with each episode having an impact on the episodes that follow, even if only slightly.
Interestingly, the DLC has a bit of a wrap-up after all five stories, something that will connect every character to one another and perhaps lead into the second season. Additionally, your choices from the original game will carry on into 400 Days, and your decisions from 400 Days will carry on into the second season.
So…that would mean that your decisions from the first game will carry on into the second game, no? We’ll let you know more when we find out.
The Walking Dead’s DLC, 400 Days will be available for the PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and iOS devices in July for $5.00. The Playstation Vita bundle of the game will be released with the entire first season, DLC included, in August. After that, you’ll have to wait until the Fall for more TWD.
Here’s hoping that the 400 Days DLC and the second season are as much of an emotional powerhouse as the first.
