You might not know of Moonville Entertainment, but you may have seen their Unity 5 rendition of Silent Hill 4‘s Room 302 awhile back. Well, after that little test and a few casual games under their belt, the studio is going full on horror with a new game of theirs that has yet to be titled.
The teaser trailer for their horror game shows the fairly typical dreary hallway that is filled with fans and home to some clutter. As the trailer continues, we’re given a shot of a foggy street with a door placed in its center. The door opens and inside lies a bloody present in the center of a room that beats like a heart. That part has me a little interested. Impossible geometry is always welcome in horror games. The trailer’s use of an eerie Christmas song was a nice touch as well.
As evidenced by the trailer, the team at Moonville Entertainment is clearly inspired by Silent Hill, most notably P.T. with their closing “Special Thanks” to Hideo Kojima and Silent Hill series composer Akira Yamaoka. We’re going to be hard pressed to find new horror games not inspired by Kojima Productions’ Silent Hills teaser, but let’s hope this untitled game keeps the inspiration as just that, and doesn’t outright try to emulate it.
