The long-awaited mod tools for Hotline Miami 2 were released today by developed Dennaton Games, alongside a nifty tutorial showing you how to use them. The only problem: there is no system in place to share them yet.
The way that Hotline Miami works has always made it a good series for a level editor. Rooms are shaped quite simply and the many victims enemies can be relied upon to behave in relatively predictable ways. The huge fanbase could definitely be relied upon to build upon Dennaton’s foundation and create some really cool challenges out of that.
The tools are here, but Steam workshop is not compatible yet, so levels are shared via online platforms like subreddits. Hopefully this can be resolved soon.
