Due to a recent leak that suggested that 4A Games would re-release the Metro games on current-gen consoles under the moniker Metro Redux, Deep Silver has come right out and confirmed that 4A’s first current-gen title is in the works. Images from a leaked presentation recently appeared online showing Metro Redux, a compilation pack of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light for the PS4 and Xbox One (and PC).
Instead of ignoring the leak, Deep Silver has revealed that the project is indeed true, albeit the leaked images are from an old presentation. Their confirmation/announcement was posted to the Metro game blog and states that news about “4A’s desire to bring Metro to the latest generation of console hardware” will be coming from this year’s E3.
Metro 2033 and Last Light are fine, fine games. Having both of these games available on the PS4 and Xbox One will allow for more people to experience the dark and creepy tunnels of the metro and check out Last Light‘s incredible visuals.
Deep Silver’s post also states that the leaked info is not as exciting as what we’ll hear at E3. What does this mean? Well, we do know that Deep Silver wants the Metro series to continue, so perhaps it’s a third game. I guess we’ll find out at E3!
