Metro 2033 has become somewhat of a cult classic amongst many gamers. It offered a carefully crafted adaptation of the Russian novel of the same name, bringing the lavishly detailed post apocalyptic world into the gaming medium so well that it would make the developers of Fallout blush. It also was somewhat of a return to form for survival horror games, clearly drawing inspiration from classics like the original Resident Evil games with it’s limited ammunition and resource management. While the the game wasn’t a massive it, it sold well enough to warrant development of the sequel Metro: Last Light.
Well those fans eager to return to the grim corridors of the Metro will be pleased to hear that Metro: Last Light is coming to home consoles and PC on May 14th 2013.
The fate of the Metro: Last Light was up in the air for a little while, as the game was originally published by THQ and still was under their wing when the publishing house filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy. Then the game was sold off to Deep Silver, despite all that though it looks as though development of the game went unaffected. We can’t wait to return to the world of Metro.
