Bandai Namco is revealing its latest title at Gamescom this year, and it is a treat for the scared child in all of us. Little Nightmares is billed as a whimsical, dark adventure through a mysterious underwater vessel called The Maw. Players take on the role of a little girl in a raincoat, scared but determined to escape the horrors within.
This is not developer Tarsier Studio’s first try at seeing the little girl through the dark. Polygon pointed out that the team had previously announced the game as Hunger in 2014. That game idea earned the indie studio a $100,000 grant from the Nordic Game Program. It seems the grant was not enough, and the developer is working under industry giant Bandai Namco to bring it to release. The team have not announced platforms or a release date yet, but we can expect to see more details in the Gamescom announcement.
