Say what you want about digital comics, there’s just no denying that they serve to greatly expand the dying market of comic books, that desperately needs more exposure outside of one’s local comic shops. So in comes Marvel’s, subscription-based, Digital Comics service that offers interested readers loads of comics– from classic arcs to some current stories. But this post is about Dead Island, so let’s get to the good stuff.
If you attended San Diego Comic-Con this year then you probably (most likely) got a chance to check out Marvel’s Dead Island comic book; written by William Dailey and with art duties from Jorge Lucas, Juan Santacruz, Diego Olmos, Carlos Rodriguez and Sergio Arino– with a cover from Christian Nauck. This single issue is now available to all digitally via the publisher’s aforementioned digital comics service. Oh, and it’s available for the very sexy price of free.
The comic serves to fill in the main characters’ backstories from the upcoming horror title. Think of it as a neat little appetizer before the main meal next Tuesday. Now, I believe you have some reading to do!
