A demo for Little Nightmares 2 is now available to download on PC, according to a recent press release from BANDAI NAMCO. Console fans need not worry, however, as PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch versions will be coming at a later date. According to the publishers, the demo takes place in “The Wilderness,” a dark and foreboding world, and chronicles the exploits of new protagonist Mono, along with the return of Six, the main protagonist of the previous game.
The Little Nightmares 2 Wilderness demo sets the stage for the adventures and horrors to come for Mono, the young protagonist of the story. Players will dive headfirst into the first moments of the game, solving the first set of deadly puzzles and meeting companion character Six, the heroine from the first installment of the Little Nightmares series. Together, Mono and Six will work together to discover the dark secrets within the Hunter’s cabin, and elude fearsome and grotesque enemies as they head towards the Pale City.
The new game is a direct sequel to 2017’s Little Nightmares, a dark and brooding Tim Burton-esque horror platformer that received high praise upon release and has enjoyed success on numerous consoles. It even launched on Google’s struggling cloud-based Stadia platform.
Little Nightmares 2 is scheduled to release in America on February 11th, 2021. No word yet on when it will be launched in other countries, but we’ll keep you posted. For now, fans can download the free demo by going to either Steam or GOG.com.
You can also pre-order digital copies of the game for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, with pre-orders for the Switch coming soon. The game comes in both a Special and Deluxe Edition which features “a full digital soundtrack, digital artbook, Mono and Six avatars, and Wallpapers for PC or a Dynamic Theme for PS4.”
