Fans of the classic Legacy of Kain series are in for a treat! Remastered versions of Soul Reaver I and Soul Reaver II were hinted at during San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC).
Branding for the remasters was first highlighted on Resetera. This branding appeared alongside a new Dark Horse Comics statue featuring Raziel, the series’ protagonist, battling the vampire lord Kain. Dark Horse Comics confirmed the statue will be available in August. However, the remaster branding has since been removed, sparking speculation about an imminent announcement.

Originally released in 1999, Soul Reaver and its sequel were directed by Amy Hennig. The games star Raziel, a vampire cast into the Lake of the Dead by Kain. Players shift between material and spectral planes to progress, absorbing the souls of defeated enemies. The games have gained a significant cult following over the years.
The remastering of these iconic Legacy of Kain games is likely to be handled by Nightdive Studios, known for revitalizing classic titles. An official announcement could be just around the corner, much to the delight of fans hoping to see the games on modern platforms like the Nintendo Switch.
