The studio behind F.E.A.R. 3 has cut back a significant amount of staff due to a recent break with Konami. Day 1 was forced to lay off 95% of the team working on a reboot of Silent Scope when Konami cancelled the game’s publishing deal.
The studio had helped work on the first two F..E.A.R. console versions in addition to the two Mech Assault titles on the Xbox, as well as the third-person shooter Fracture.
It’s a little sad to hear the Chicago IL studio laying off so many people so close to the holidays. Here’s hoping these guys and gals find some more work soon. No word yet on how this might affect future F.E.A.R. titles, but you can be sure that when we find out, we’ll let you know.
