Ah, Playstation Experience, the home of insider information on Playstation titles. This year, Naughty Dog took a full day onstage to discuss Uncharted and The Last of Us, finally revealing some information about the development of The Last of Us Part 2. First things first: The game is 50-60% complete. I’d speculate that we will be seeing it in late 2018, given that information.
We already knew from the first trailer that Ellie and Joel will be returning, and they are thankfully being brought to life by their original voice actors. For those who don’t know, that would be Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, who joined the panel alongside developers. Fearless leader Neil Druckmann remains at the helm for The Last of Us Part 2 as well, so we can probably expect a seamless transition between Parts 1 and 2.
Not much else is said about the storyline. There are the few characters introduced in the last trailer, and Druckmann does mention a pregnancy at one point. We know that the bulk of the story is set in or around Seattle. As for when we will get more story details? That would be when new footage is shown at E3 2018. Check back in six months for what is hopefully a new trailer and expected release date. In the meantime, fans can check out the full panel in the video below.
