All alone in a house in the middle of the woods. Creepy crawlies in the shadows and horrid knocks at the door. Knock-Knock follows our clearly upset protagonist as he attempts to survive deathly games of hide-and-seek with mysterious forces to keep his life and sanity. Something that, judging by the way he looks, isn’t going to be easy.
Knock-Knock is developed by Ice Pick Lodge and has a cartoonish-yet dark art style to it. I’m already getting vibes that it fits the game’s setting and story well. The official site tells us that our protagonist, the Lodger, will have to survive multiple nights by biding his time, moving through the house’s rooms when its safe, and keeping the house in a good enough condition to keep the bad things out, whatever they are. This all makes it sound like a tense endurance game! Also, there is an explanation for these surreal events hidden somewhere within.
But, the creepiest part of this game so far? Ice Pick Lodge decided to make it because of a series of strange e-mails that were sent to their studio. Now that definitely adds a flare of creepiness all its own. Check out the trailer and judge for yourself.
