Killing Floor’s Halloween Horror Double Feature brings new maps and the Toy Master Mod

There’s not much in the world that can sate my hunger for Killing Floor 2 right now. However, it would seem that Tripwire Interactive is happy to provide one of the few things that’ll satisfy me right now: more free holiday content for the first Killing Floor! I was of the impression that End of the Line would be the last update we’d see for the original game, but as per usual, there is a new Halloween Horror content patch and this time it’s a double feature.

First up, there’s a new map called Club Clandestine, described as “a demented underground nightclub complete with all the requisite torture devices for a fun night out.” It reminds me of one of my favorite maps from the original game, Bedlam, what with all the flashing laser lights and open spaces. The Zeds will be re-skinned as their Hillbilly Horror variants. I do miss the original Halloween costumes a bit! Here’s the part I’m really excited about, though: this update also brings the Devil’s Dollhouse map with a new official mod called Toy Master. It was created by Art Director David Hensley and Alex Quick (original creator of Killing Floor) provided some assistance. The Zeds have been replaced with creepy little toys and there’s even a Jack-in-the-Box boss. I’m looking forward to trying this out!

On top of all this, Killing Floor is part of Steam’s free weekend so now is the time to try it out with some buddies if you haven’t yet. It’s also heavily discounted at 75% off ($4.99) for the game itself, or $17.49 for the version that includes all DLC. The discounts end on October 30th, but the Halloween Horror event continues until November 3. Who wants to play?
