While Friday the 13th: The Game is still about a month away from release, developer Gun Media has been toying with fans via the game’s teaser, the Virtual Cabin.
One part vertical slice and two parts monument to the franchise, the Friday the 13th: The Game Virtual Cabin released for Kickstarter backers and those who pre-ordered the game, offering a look at the team’s progress. In the cabin there’s a bunch of easter eggs that reference items and events throughout the F13 franchise. It’s been updated recently to show off new material from the game … but there’s also something more to be found. It turns out that if players find a series of secrets, they can be sent on a path to meet the man himself, Jason Voorhees.
I embarked on this quest to get killed by Jason last night on Twitch. It took a little longer than I had hoped, but uncovering the secrets to come face to face with the slasher icon was fun. It turns out I am the 157th person to get killed by Jason in the Virtual Cabin. If you’d like to see my journey, check out the video below!
