Japanese developer Kaga Create has closed its door starting this year. While not known by many in the West, the company did recently release the Japan-exclusive Higurashi: When They Cry Sui, a complete collection of the widespread Higurashi series for the Playstation 3 that included chapters formerly exclusive to Nintendo DS and Playstation 2 versions of the games.
This was quite an achievement, considering the game was brought to market within a few months and included redone art and voices for all the characters. Kaga Create started in 1988 as a developer for the TurboGrax16 and has since developed for many different consoles. It’s a shame to see them go, but hopefully the employees will find new development teams soon.
