Regardless of the amount of praise and commercial success the Dead Space franchise has been met with, it’s still not able to compete against EA’s other top dogs. Well, seeing as how this is still a young franchise, there’s really no surprise to be had there.
Dead Space 3 was stated as being the game that will officially put the necromorph-tastic franchise up there with the Maddens and Battlefield of the EA stable. According to EA’s CEO, John Riccitiello, when talking about the lack of Dead Space on their company’s multi-million selling list:
“That excludes Dead Space because I think it will probably take Dead Space 3 before we get into that five million unit cadence versus say three, four.”
No worries, though, Dead Space fans. We’re sure that by the time Dead Space 3 rolls around, there will already be a substantial growth in the IP’s fanbase.
