Hunt: Showdown to Receive Solo Mode, Cross-Play, and More

Hunt Showdown Preview

Developer Crytek has announced that their multiplayer horror shooter Hunt: Showdown is in for some pretty cool changes in 2020, chief among them a new solo mode, cross-play, and new content.

In partnership with Koch Media, which is acting as the game’s new publisher across all platforms, Hunt: Showdown’s continued development has received a shot in the arm. Though it’s out of early access, the game will receive some much-appreciated content updates, starting with update 1.2 — which adds random three-player teams, an advanced tutorial, new Legendary Hunters, and new equipment. Later in the year, players can expect a solo PvE mode (something I’ve been asking for since the game launched), live-events, outfit customizations, a new map, and cross-play between Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Speaking of PlayStation, Hunt: Showdown‘s release on PlayStation 4 is slated for February 18th.

If you’ve yet to play Hunt: Showdown, do yourself a favor and give it a try. It’s an incredibly atmospheric and challenging multiplayer experience where teams of monster hunters compete for a bounty big-bad’s head. Surrounding them is a map filled with all manner of nasty creatures.
