The sequel to 2012’s Hotline Miami was originally scheduled for a release in Q3 2014, but according to the game’s official twitter account it still requires some polish.
It’s unsure whether or not Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number will be ready before the end of 2014, but according to its creators it will release in early 2015 at the latest. In a later tweet, the studio thanked their fans for the patience and positivity.
A few days ago, a rip-off game titled Hotline Kavkaz appeared on Steam Greenlight courtesy of a Russian developer, so this delay is somewhat ill-timed, even if Kavkaz received very little coverage in the media (us included). Hopefully these extra weeks of development will help Devolver Digital and Dennaton Games produce a product that proves their games can be mimicked, but not beaten.
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is still getting some final tweaks and polish, expected to be ready for late 2014 or early 2015.
