In our review of 2018’s Thai-themed horror game Home Sweet Home, we called it a “solid modern horror game which effectively utilizes Thai culture and mythology to create an unnerving, atmospheric, and surreal experience.” A horror game with interesting Thai cultural influences that helped it to stand out in a crowded first person horror market, it seems like fans of Home Sweet Home have more to look forward to, as evidenced by a recent teaser trailer for Home Sweet Home: Episode 2.
Published to developer YggGame’s YouTube channel, the trailer hits a few notes that might be familiar to anyone who played the first game. While I can’t speak to the cultural importance of the shrines or dances featured in the trailer, Home Sweet Home: Episode 2 seems to be building on the solid foundation of the original entry. We see shadowy figures engaged in elaborate ceremonies and some brief first-person gameplay. By the looks of this teaser, Home Sweet Home: Episode 2 is looking to maintain the graphical fidelity of the original game as well, which was fairly impressive for a game of this scope.
