Yager’s upcoming sequel to Dead Island was featured last week at the EGX Expo in London, England. The below video includes about eight minutes of gameplay and a twelve minute panel from the game’s developers.
Dead Island 2, unlike its stepbrother Dying Light (developed by Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide developers Techland), appears to be adapting a full-on arcadey style, complete with vibrant visuals, floating numbers, and nonsensical weapons. The footage below and proceeding details points out the team’s focus on multiplayer this time around, with seamless cooperative play with up to three friends.
Dead Island has always received an “it’s alright” from me, but I’m hoping this sequel lives up to its E3 reveal trailer and provides a lot of laughs as well as fun gameplay.
