The release date for Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is fast approaching, and to tide us over until release, developer Ninja Theory has released a small teaser for a featurette that will be included with the full game. Titled Senua’s Psychosis, the video shows off how the development team were aided by neuroscientists and people who have lived with psychosis, in order to make sure Senua’s struggle through Hel was as realistic as possible. The full feature will be around 25 minutes.
This announcement comes just a few days after the release of Hellblade’s gorgeous launch trailer, which you can view right here.
Few games in recent memory have gone through as much trouble to realistically portray mental illness, and it’s honestly a breath of fresh air, especially in the horror genre. Ninja Theory’s openness with the subject matter and willingness to share their creative process with the player is what sets them apart from the pack, and here’s hoping they can live up to their fans’ expectations.
