The survival horror genre didn’t exactly find its (Plant 42) roots with the original Resident Evil. It actually went back to the days of the Atari 2600. Released in 1982, Haunted House is considered by many as being the first survival horror game. In this retro title, you controlled a pair of eyes and ventured through a haunted mansion. Well, we’ve certainly come a long way since then. Enter: Cryptic Graves.
Cryptic Graves brings the series back to life, powered by the Unreal Engine. You play as Anya Graves, a woman who possesses supernatural abilities, allowing her to speak with the dead and touch objects to learn more about its history. You’ll use your powers to hunt down the evil entities that haunt the mansion, all while trying to solve the mystery about a ghost’s murder, to free him from the house.
The game is now available on PC through Steam for $20. For more information, check out the interview with the developer in the source link below!
