Harvester makes a sudden comeback on Steam

Harvester

Do you remember Harvester? It was a FMV adventure game from 1996 about a man investigating a mysterious cult that controls his town after finding human remains in his fiancee’s house. It was gory, silly and looked pretty terrible, but apparently the good outweighed the bad, since the game was just ported over to Steam.

The publisher responsible for this is Night Dive Studios, famous for bringing a variety of classic games to the platform, including the The 7th Guest, I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream, and System Shock 2. Perhaps a more modern audience can appreciate the game as relic from the old days and we’ll see this become a new cult-classic, but I personally don’t feel like bringing back memories of the nightmarish FMV cutscenes, so I’ll just skip on this.

For those of you eager to try it out for yourself, the game is now available for $ 5.99. Those of us outside the US should look towards Good Old Games, though, as it offers the game for the same price, but doesn’t rip you off with regional pricing.
