Some serious music talent will be creating the score for Quantic Dreams’ Beyond: Two Souls. Hans Zimmer (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises, Man of Steel) will be producing the score with Lorne Balfe (Assassin’s Creed III, The Dark Knight Rises, The Bible) as composer. The two esteemed music creators discuss their involvement on Beyond and their creative process on crafting a sound that compliments the game’s story and medium. The two also discuss how Beyond’s branching narrative will have an affect on the theme of the score.
I’ve said it before, but Beyond is really being promoted like a film. There’s nothing inherently wrong about that, but I want to make sure that it’s a good game with a good story, not something being advertised as what it wishes it were instead. The game releases on October 8th, so it won’t be long until we find out if its use of esteemed music composers and actors will make it the epic and emotional title that it’s being sold as. I can only hope it is.
