H1Z1 comes to Steam Early Access on January 15

Sony Online Entertainment’s answer to the zombie survival MMO genre, popularized by DayZ, has finally had its release date revealed. The Planetside 2 developers will be releasing H1Z1 on Steam Early Access on the 15th of January. The game may intend to be F2P at launch, but alpha access will cost $19.99.

As one should expect, the game’s Early Access release is a work in progress and changes will happen frequently. Bugs, incomplete features, and the introduction of new content should be expected.

As an avid DayZ player, I’m looking forward to seeing what SOE brings to the table. Here’s hoping H1Z1 brings some healthy competition.
