In more Silent Hill news, the latest P.T. mod has arrived, courtesy of popular DOOM modder Andrea Gori (aka Batandy). Entitled GZ P.T., the 2.5D mod pays homage to the legendary Silent Hills teaser with low-res OG DOOM graphics.
In the game’s description:
“GZ P.T. is a standalone, non-profit GZDOOM-based remake of Hideo Kojima’s Playable Teaser. While not a 1:1 remake, every sequence has been recreated as close as possible to the original, with low res assets and textures in true retro fashion. Will you manage to escape the haunted corridor?”
In related Silent Hills news, Hideo Kojima’s demo sadly will not be backwards compatible with the Playstation 5. Konami confirmed that the “content will not be available on the PS Store, so users won’t be able to re-download the content through the backwards compatibility feature to the PS5.” However, with some technical savvy, it may be possible to transfer P.T.’s existing file from one’s PS4.
While you’re trying to figure out the zeros and ones of that, jump into the pixelated horror that is Andrea Gori’s P.T.: DOOM mod, just make sure to have some 16-bit adult diapers handy.
