Konami has been on a sort of Castlevania high lately. They celebrated Halloween right by catering to fans of the storied franchise. They gave us an HD version of Mirror of Fate on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Super Castlevania IV on Wii U and they unleashed a brand new trailer for Lords of Shadow 2. Now comes a set of brand new images from Lords of Shadow 2!
These images all focus on Dracula in the past, where his castle has been compromised and he must fight his own former creatures of the night, as well as men of God as they like to call themselves. I like this tactic. Konami has only been focusing on the game’s “Dracula in his prime” scenario, as opposed to the game’s modern-day scenario which is set to comprise more than half of the game. That’s smart marketing right there.
We also get to see a glimpse of Dracula going up against Victor Belmont. Some good ol’ Belmont on Belmont whipping action! I’m really excited to see how Victor plays a role in this revamped universe, and I’m still hoping we get to see MercurySteam’s version of Julius in the modern setting.
