Gecco Corp’s upcoming Silent Hill 3 Heather figure has been finalized by the manufacturer. As you can see in the image above, the statue’s paint job has gone through two revisions since its original unveiling at SDCC 2013.
The first sample released by the company features a much more detailed coloring on Heather’s face. Blotchiness, freckles, and a mixture of skin tones made the figure look incredibly detailed. The second sample shown in November lost a lot of that detail, reducing the shading and quality of the paint job. The figure’s hair also lost a lot of color variation and definition. The final product seems to have regained some of the finer freckle details, but is still considerably less detailed than the original sample.
Variations such as this are expected among promotional shots and final products, but seeing as how this figure is of a human character – the protagonist of Silent Hill 3 noless, it’s a bit disappointing seeing so much detail lost since the figure’s first reveal. Face aside, the figure’s sculpt is quite impressive and comes with Heather’s laser sword and a handgun. Heather’s skin has a realistic texture to it and her watch even has a readable display.
After the termination of ToyMunkey Studio‘s overseas distribution contract, Gecco Corp has yet to reveal who their replacement distributor will be outside of Japan. Heather is available now from Japanese distributors and the release of Robbie the Rabbit will follow next month. Expect the two Silent Hill 3 figures to officially release outside of Japan, but not for some length of time.
