As we anticipated, Until Dawn has reappeared at Sony’s Gamescom presser. It’s looking pretty sharp, with impressive facial expressions, pretty lighting effects, and prettier teenagers. The story is said to be darker and game is completely revamped at this point. All we know so far is that there are bunch of Hollywood-lookin’ chumps hanging out in the snowy woods, and that heads are going to roll. Pretty sure I saw someone in a clown mask or something, but it’s hard to tell. Stay tuned!
Update: The team behind the game is Supermassive Games (specifically the Until Dawn team). Players will control eight different friends who “gather at a remote mountain getaway for a night of unexpected terror.” The story was created with the help of Larry Fessenden and Graham Reznick (Stake Land, Habit, The Last Winter), independent horror movie creators. The cast includes Hayden Panettiere (Heroes), Rami Malek (Night at the Museum), and Brett Dalton (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D). The game will no longer focus on the PS Move, and has been switched from first to third person perspective. Killzone: Shadow Fall‘s engine is being used to create a visual powerhouse.
