Dead Island 2 has finally showed off some of its gameplay today with a trailer from Gamescom. Publisher Deep Silver revealed the game at E3 with a trailer and demonstration at the show, but that lacked enough footage to form a solid opinion. Now we have an energetic 1-minute trailer to oggle at, and the game looks like you’d expect.
The sequel to Dead Island retains its vibrant visuals and familiar zombie killing gameplay, but with a new coat of paint to make it look much prettier. Based on material released so far, I take it we can expect Dead Island 2 to embrace the silly and comedic tone found in the reveal trailer instead of walking a thin line between lukewarm drama and oddly placed humor like its predecessors.
Developed by Yager, the folks behind the exceptional Spec Ops: The Line, I’m looking forward to Dead Island 2. Now we just need to see how different it will be when compared to Dying Light, a game developed by the creators of Dead Island.
