Admittedly, when we hear that Nintendo is pushing for online multiplayer in their titles, we cringe a little. Nintendo hasn’t had much luck with grasping onto the online multiplayer component of modern gaming. Don’t get us wrong, who didn’t like swapping friend codes? But maybe the Wii U will be different? Maybe it will make multiplayer a little less, um, kiddie?
During a demonstration of ZombiU at Gamescom today, an Ubisoft developer detailed an in-game messaging system set for ZombiU, and how it would work.
Players will be able to leave clues for other players. The clues can warn of a threat, or perhaps an arrow to point you in the right direction. We’ve seen this somewhere before. The clues can be found by using the tablet to ‘scan’ bodies, where players can find messages scrawled out on the floor.
We’re going to be a little upset if the first time we pay heed to someone’s dying message and it leads us right into the gaping maw of a zombie. No one would do that to us, would they?
