Forgotten Memories’ Launch trailer evokes Silent Hill Nostalgia

There’s no way around the fact that the developers of Forgotten Memories, an upcoming survival horror game for PC, mobiles, and the PlayStation Vita, are big fans of Silent Hill. The name itself reminds of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, the gameplay is a bit reminiscent as well as its themes, and hell, they’ve even cast two Silent Hill 2 cast members as characters in their game: Guy Cihi (James Sunderland) and David Schaufele (Eddie Dombrowski). But heavy homage aside, the launch trailer for Forgotten Memories has made the game look pretty darn solid.

Forgotten Memories is said to be a psychological horror game with puzzles and survival mechanics, just like they used to make ’em back in the day. As Rose Dawkins, players will set out on a mission to find a missing child named Eden. The events of the game take place in an abandoned asylum (not very unique, I know) and the manifestations of Rose’s own memories. There are scary nurses, mannequins, and presumably a child that will keep running away from you despite the dangerous situation. But for a mobile title, Forgotten Memories looks pretty good graphically and mechanically.

Let’s see if Forgotten Memories can deliver the type of classic gameplay we so want from the genre when it releases on April 23, 2015 on iOS – additional platforms are expected sometime after.
