Today’s a big day for fans of Scott Cawthon’s Five Nights at Freddy’s series of popular jump-scare-a-thon horror games, as Cawthon has announced in a press release that not only is the fourth game on its way, but also a feature-length movie adaptation of the first game in the series, simply titled Five Nights at Freddy’s.
According to Cawthon in the press release, he will be partnering with 20th Century Fox to bring Five Nights to the big screen this Halloween, with a film that promises to “capture the cinematic qualities that made the Five Nights series so popular while offering even less interaction.” No actors or directors are confirmed to be attached to the project yet, but you can see the film’s first-ever teaser poster below.
The press release contained very little information about Five Night’s at Freddy’s 4 except that the game will be launching alongside the movie when it releases in theatres this October and will set the groundwork for a “new trilogy” of games in the series.
You can check out Five Nights at Freddy’s 1-3 on Steam or mobile devices, and keep your eyes peeled for more news on the series’ fourth installment and cinematic adaptation as we move closer towards their autumn release dates.
