One of the biggest gripes that DayZ Standalone players and prospective DayZ Standalone buyers share in common is the game’s lack of vehicles. With a world map that’s 225 km2 large and increasingly difficult survival elements like weather conditions and degrading shoes, navigating around DayZ can be a bit of a chore. But after being in alpha for almost a year now, Bohemia Interactive will release the first iteration of vehicles to the game via its experimental branch later today.
In a few hours, players can expect to find vehicles in the game (minus the requirement to find and repair parts). Bohemia has released vehicle support in a basic form for testing purposes, so finding and maintaining vehicles will be easier than when they’re fully implemented in the future. Glitches and placeholder effects should be expected, as well.
I think I’ll be taking a trip to Chernarus later today to find a car and drive down the coastline blastine Adele through my mic. It’s just what need to be done, OK?
