Today during the Limited Run Games Showcase 2024, the publisher/distributor announced that it would be bringing the cel-shaded, survival horror PlayStation classic Fear Effect to consoles and PC in 2025.
The publisher is partnering with Square Enix, who took over former publisher Eidos in 2009. The game will release both physically and digitally.

Originally developed by Kronos Digital Entertainment, Fear Effect (2000) and it’s sequel, Fear Effect: Retro Helix (2001) are two of the most unique games of the genre and popularized the cel-shaded aesthetic in games in the early 2000s. It’s great to hear the original is getting a re-release on modern systems.
