FBC: Firebreak – A Paranatural Co-Op FPS Set in the Control Universe

Remedy Entertainment Unveils FBC: Firebreak

Remedy Entertainment is taking players back into the eerie world of Control, but this time, it’s a fight for survival with friends. FBC: Firebreak, a three-player co-op FPS, just dropped its first gameplay trailer, and it’s looking like a wild mix of supernatural chaos, high-intensity combat, and Remedy’s signature reality-warping weirdness.

Set within the Control universe, FBC: Firebreak throws players into the role of elite Bureau agents, tasked with containing a fast-spreading paranatural threat inside the Oldest House. This isn’t just any cleanup job — the ever-shifting Bureau headquarters is under siege by an unknown, relentless force, and only Firebreak’s elite response unit stands a chance at restoring order.

FBC: Firebreak Will Have Lower PC Requirements Than Remedy's Single Player Games

The game follows a session-based, PvE multiplayer format, where players tackle high-stakes missions known as Jobs. Each Job is designed to test teamwork, adaptability, and strategic thinking, unfolding across unpredictable environments that shift and react in real time.

The new trailer gives us a first look at Paper Chase, a mission that starts with something seemingly harmless: an outbreak of rogue sticky notes in the Executive Sector. But in true Control fashion, things escalate quickly. Players must push through three increasingly dangerous zones, culminating in a showdown with a towering, nightmarish entity born from the chaos.

The blend of the mundane and the paranatural — one of Control’s hallmarks — is alive and well here, with Remedy taking everyday objects and twisting them into something deeply unsettling and unexpectedly dangerous.

Crisis Kits: Choose Your Paranatural Playstyle

Before jumping into a job, players will select a “Crisis Kit”, which defines their loadout, abilities, and overall playstyle.

The trailer reveals three distinct options:

  • Jump Kit: Focused on electricity-based abilities, specializing in mobility and controlling the battlefield.
  • Fix Kit: A heavy-hitting loadout centered on raw impact, featuring a massive wrench for brutal melee combat.
  • Splash Kit: A water-based kit that manipulates battlefield conditions and supports teammates.

Remedy has confirmed that all future playable content — including new Jobs — will be free. While players will have the option to purchase cosmetics, these won’t impact gameplay, and there will be no limited-time rotations or forced daily log-ins. This player-friendly approach ensures that everyone can experience future updates without worrying about missing out.
