It’s easy to dismiss the Wii U’s giant gamepad as a useless piece of kit. After all, how many games actually utilize the gamepad very well? You’re exempt from answering that question if you haven’t played a Wii U title yet. But the gamepad almost has the Playstation Vita problem. Lots of neat features packed in, but no one seems to want to utilize them to their full potential.
Except…!
Tecmo Koei and Nintendo have released a new trailer for Fatal Frame 5: The Black-Haired Shrine Maiden, which shows off some unique ways that the gamepad will be used.
Okay, so the trailer is in Japanese, but you get the gist of it. Using the gamepad as a camera was obvious, but it’s nice to see it in action, and that it’s not just ‘point gamepad at screen, press button’ And for what it’s worth, the game is looking pretty sharp!
The game will launch in Japan on September 27, but unfortunately we have yet to hear when the English version will be released.
