Eldritch now available on Steam

Eldritch

If you have a grudge against indie games, then you might want to run away now, because Eldritch was released on Steam today and it has got every item on the indie game checklist covered. It’s a roguelike, first-person action game inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft, using an aesthetic similar in appearance to that of Minecraft. Despite of the fact that it seems more like a pile of tropes than an actual game, the end-result is actually pretty good.

Polygon gave the game a stunning 9/10, praising the game’s enemies for their unpredictability and the many different loadouts that are possible. Having given the game a look myself, I’d like to add that the enemy designs are interesting too; some look downright goofy or cute, while others legitimately creep me out. It’s also interesting to see a Lovecraft-themed game that actually gives you a sufficient amount of power.

The game is available for fifteen dollars in the US, 10 pounds in the UK and 12 euros in jolly, old Europe. Currently there is a 20% discount to celebrate its launch, as per usual.
